sipil.ft.undip.ac.id – Diponegoro University Civil Engineering Department conducted a guest lecture study visit to PT Wijaya Karya Beton (WIKA) which is located at Boyolali Regency on 2nd August 2023. This study visit was implemented as a form of collaboration between Diponegoro University Civil Engineering and PT Wijaya Karya. The study visit to a precast concrete plant was nothing short of a revelation, as participants saw the process of concrete production, especially precast concrete on a large scale through precision and efficiency.
There are a total of 14 students who visited Wika Concrete Plant. During the visit, the students were given presentations regarding prestressed concrete production on a large scale, types of precast products with national standards, and also how it’s processed. All of the ins and outs of the plant were explained thoroughly by Mr Abdul Hasan and Mr Wisnu. Through this activity, it is hoped that the students of Civil Engineering can gain new knowledge and insights that have never been obtained in college studies while also able to know how to solve many kinds of problems in large-scale precast concrete production.
