sipil.ft.undip.ac.id – One of Indonesia’s National Development Objectives is to increase the capacity of Human Resources, including the Construction Workforce. All construction employees are required to have a Work Competency Certificate by Law (Undang-Undang) No. 2 of 2017 pertaining to Construction Services. The Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Diponegoro University, in collaboration with the Central Java Provincial Government through the Central Java Province Public Works and Human Settlements Service (Dinas PU Bina Marga dan Cipta Karya) and the Central Java National Association of Construction Experts Association (Asosiasi Tenaga Ahli Konstruksi Nasional-ATAKNAS), organized Training and Certification of Construction Experts for Fresh Graduates. 2023. A total of 100 recent college graduates participated in offline training from 24-27 July 2023, followed by online learning and SIBIMA material exams, and concluded with a competency examination for three job positions, including Building Engineering, Road Engineering, and K3 Construction.
Prof. Jati Utomo Dwi Hatmoko, head of the Undip Civil Engineering Department, emphasized the significance of this activity in preparing graduates for better career opportunities in the construction industry and enhancing the reliability and professionalism of the construction industry.
Prof. M Agung Wibowo, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, hopes that the results of this Construction expert certification will increase high-quality standards of work in the implementation of high-risk construction work, have a good understanding of work safety practices and correct procedures, and reduce the risk of accidents in construction work.
